ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS
BEAUTY MAKE UP
Junior Category
The candidate artist must send a few pictures/photos on compact disk in JPEG format as well as a résumé in Word document format on the same compact disk.
Moreover, the candidate artist must provide proof of make up education/training in a recognized school. This training must be recent, not older than one year.
Master Category
The candidate artist must send a few pictures/photos on compact disk in JPEG format as well as a résumé in Word document format on the same compact disk.
BODY PAINTING
The candidate artist must send a dossier which includes a description in written form and printed on 8.5 X 11 paper and sketches on paper 8.5 X 11 related to his/her application intentions respecting the theme “Fantastic World”. The name of the candidate artist must appear only on the front of these file papers.
Moreover, the candidate must provide pictures of his/her achievements on compact disk in JPEG format as well as a résumé in Word document format on the same compact disk.
Selection Criteria
The jury panel will be made up of three members that will choose 25 participants in each competition, in each category. The choice will be made following the review of the anonymous pictures and written files printed by the promoters.
All dossiers must be sent to promoters before April 20, 2009 at 11:59pm
Once the artists have been selected, they will be advised by phone until April 24th
All documents and compact disks of selected artists will belong to promoters till June 30th, 2009. If the artist wishes to retrieve his/her dossier, he/she must make the request when registering. The dossier will be handed back after the award presentations.
The dossier may be written in French or English.
The dossiers that do not respect the eligibility conditions will be dismissed
COMPETITION SCHEDULE
GENERAL OLYMPIAD RULES
People allowed on the competition site
Artiste : Competitor that executes the make up application.
- Model : Person serving as the model for the competing artist executing the make up application
- Assistant : Person designated by the artist prior to starting the competition, providing assistance with tasks and conditions defined by the competition rules.
- Judge : Person attending competitions in their respective category and evaluating participants.
- Competition Director : Supervising person that organizes and manages competitions. Their decision is final and irrefutable.
- Promoters : Gaëlle Mouster and Philippe Coquin
- Others : Official Photographers, official cameraman, accredited journalists, security personnel.
All artists and models must sign a release form concerning the use of any official photos and/or images (in any form) relating to the COLORMUNDO Make Up Olympiads. The event promoters will have the exclusive publishing rights of these photos and/or images.
All competitors will have access to an onsite studio photo session (additional fee). All competitors may take photos themselves. These photos are not considered official photos and/or images.
The public admitted onsite as professionals, may access competitions from a defined distance. The public is not authorized to communicate with the artists during the competition.
All cell phones must be turned off. No telephone conversations are authorized, unless a special permission is granted by the competition director.
Each make up workstation provides a table, a director’s chair and a garbage bin.
Beauty Make Up Competition Rules
The artist has 15 minutes prior to the start to set up and arrange their color palates and make up containers, accessories and tools.
The artist is not authorized to touch his/her make up products, colors, shadows or others with sponges, brushes, spatula or other instruments before the competition officially begins.
The artist must respect the minimum cleanliness guidelines : he/she must ensure working, through out the whole competition, in a clean and healthy environment.
Brushes, sponges and accessories will be inspected by the jury during set up time.
Models must be at least 18 year of age.
Only women models will be accepted.
False eyelash application is authorized only during the competition.
Hair, Clothing and Nails may be prepared before or during the competition. An assistant is authorized for the purpose of preparing the model, as long as there is no intervention relating to the make up application by the assistant.
The artist must advise the competition director or a judge if he/she must leave momentarily during the competition.
Consultations with the model concerning the subject of make up are not allowed.
Up to 15% of the marks may be deducted following one or more rule violations.
The artist could be disqualified by the director and without appeal possibilities in the case of major rule violations or undesirable behaviour.
Example of undesirable behaviour : Artist screaming or swearing, artist disrupting his neighbour, artist ignores competition director or judge’s warnings.
Authorized Material and/or Accessories : Wigs, false eyelashes, false nails, jewellery, sequins, hats not extending lower than shoulders, gloves, shoes, feathers, others (to be approved by management).
Please note : Jewellery, such as piercing or glued onto the skin must not exceed a maximum of 5% of the facial surface or measure more than 5mm in thickness.
Please note : Feathers that are glued onto the face or as false eyelashes must not exceed a maximum of 5% of the facial surface and cannot exceed the 5 cm measurement in length. Non-authorized Material and/or Accessories : Masks, latex pieces, special effects other than jewellery and eyelash glue.
Evaluation Scale
Make Up Application execution and technique : 40%
Harmony of colors and textures : 15%
Overall look and originality : 25%
Cleanliness and hygiene during the execution 10%.
Model choice & 10%
Note : All body parts which includes, the back, the hairstyle, clothing, nails and accessories are part of the evaluation rating.
Body Painting Competition Rules
The competition officially begins at 10 am and ends at 3 pm.
Both competition categories will be held in the same room, each on their respective side.
The artist must provide in written form, in French or English, a text of a maximum of ten lines describing his/her artwork in relation to the theme. This text must be given to their competition director upon request prior to the start of the competition.
The artist has 30 minutes prior to the start of the competition to set up and arrange his/her color palettes and containers, accessories and tools.
The artist is not authorized to touch or manipulate his/her body make up products with sponges, brushes, spatula or other instruments, before the competition officially begins.
The artist must respect the minimum cleanliness guidelines : he/she must make sure to bring enough clean water and provide containers for soiled water.
Brushes, sponges and accessories will be inspected by the jury during set up time.
Models must be at least 18 year of age.
Bikini bottom or G-string is mandatory, only bra may be authorized as additional clothing. However, this additional piece of clothing may influence the jury’s evaluation marks and must therefore be an integral part of the make up application.
A minimum of 80% of the total body surface must be painted.
False eyelashes and nails are authorized only during the competition.
The hair style must be carried out before the competition.
The addition of hair accessories will only be authorized during the competition.
No assistant is allowed on the competition site.

Glue exclusively serving to apply false eyelashes and nails.
